LOGO DESIGN IN RAJKOT

Logo design in Rajkot, with the files and rules around it.

A logo is 1 file. What keeps your branding the same everywhere is the set of files around it. Vector, raster, and single colour versions. Exact colour codes for print and for screen. Gujarati and Hindi versions. And 1 page of written rules any printer in the city can follow.

Why we do not sell a logo on its own.

Because a logo with nothing around it goes wrong again within 2 years. Drawing the mark is the easy part. The hard part is the rest. Your flex vendor, your card printer, and whoever runs your Instagram must all produce the same thing. Without asking you first.

Most businesses in Rajkot already have a logo. What they do not have is 1 agreed colour value. Or a file the hoarding vendor can blow up to 20 feet. Or a 1 colour version for a rubber stamp. Or a rule about how much empty space sits around the mark. So every vendor guesses. Every guess is slightly different. 6 years of slightly different is what you are looking at today.

The fix is boring and it works. Decide the mark once. Then write down everything a person needs in order to use it correctly. After that a new brochure, a new stall backdrop, or a new festival post costs less. It also takes less of your time. Nobody has to ask you what the gold colour is.

The 3 kinds of logo file, and when each is used.

Vector, raster, and single colour. Vector files can be made any size without breaking. Raster files are fixed pixel pictures, for screens and documents. Single colour versions are for rubber stamps, embroidery, foil, and screen printing. If your handover is missing any of the 3, something will fail this year.

Vector: AI, EPS, SVG, PDF

The master artwork. It is drawn as maths, not as pixels. So it looks the same at 15mm on a visiting card and at 20 feet on a hoarding. Your flex and signage vendors will ask for EPS or a vector PDF. Your website developer will want SVG. The AI file is the editable original. It should sit with you, not only with the designer.

Raster: PNG and JPG

Fixed size pictures, for screens, documents, and anywhere vector is not accepted. PNG has a see through background. That is the file for a presentation slide, a WhatsApp reply, or an invoice format. JPG always sits inside a white box. So it is the wrong file more often than the right one. Take both, in several sizes, so nobody stretches a small one.

Single colour and reversed

A 1 colour black version. A 1 colour white version for dark backgrounds. And a solid shape version, for places where fine detail would fill in. A rubber stamp maker needs these. So does an embroiderer, a screen printer, and a foil press. Send them full colour artwork and it comes back looking like a smudge.

Why a JPG only handover causes bad branding.

Because a JPG cannot be made bigger. It cannot sit on a coloured background. It cannot be separated for print. So every vendor who gets one has to redraw, retype, or copy your logo by eye. That redrawing is where 1 brand quietly turns into 4.

This is the most common handover in Rajkot. The designer sends a JPG on WhatsApp. The file gets forwarded 6 times. Each forward makes it worse. Then the hoarding vendor blows that 800 pixel picture up to 20 feet. The edges go soft. Somebody retypes the company name under it, in whatever font that machine has.

By then it has passed through a card printer, a flex vendor, a stall maker, and 2 freelancers. The mark now has 4 different shapes, 3 different golds, and 2 different fonts. Nobody made a bad decision. There was no correct file and no written rule. So everybody made a reasonable guess.

Colour codes for print and for screen.

Screens mix light and printers mix ink. So the same colour needs a different code in each place. You get a HEX and RGB code for screen. A CMYK code for offset and digital printing. And a Pantone number for any job printed in 1 ink.

  • HEX and RGB for websites, social media, presentations, and anything on a screen.
  • CMYK for offset and digital printing. Cards, brochures, catalogues, packaging, and flex.
  • A Pantone number for foil blocking, screen printing on cloth bags and cartons, and any 1 ink job.
  • A set pure black and a rich black. Small text stays sharp, and large black areas do not look grey.
  • A note that the same colour looks warmer on plain paper than on matt art card. Brighter again on backlit flex.
  • A minimum contrast rule, so the logo stays readable on a photo, a dark backdrop, or a glow sign.

Gujarati and Hindi versions of your logo.

If your customers read Gujarati, the Gujarati version of your name is part of your logo. It is not something a flex vendor types in later. We set it properly, match its weight and size to the English, and lock the pair. Then nobody can move them around.

Gujarati and Hindi need more height than English. The matras sit above and below the line. Set at the same point size as the English, the Gujarati looks small and thin. So it has to be matched by eye, not by number. In the wrong font the matras and joined letters break. That is the slightly wrong Gujarati you see on half the hoardings in the city.

You get 3 versions. English and Gujarati side by side. English and Gujarati one above the other. And each language on its own. All of them come as outlined vector artwork. So no vendor needs the font installed, and no vendor can swap it.

What the 1 page of rules contains.

1 page, in plain language, with no design jargon. It exists so a printer, a vendor, or a new employee can produce correct work without asking you. It is the part of the job that keeps working long after the project is closed and paid for.

  • Which file to use for which job, named exactly as the files are named.
  • Minimum size in millimetres for print, and in pixels for screen.
  • Clear space. How much empty room must sit around the mark.
  • Approved colour versions, and which backgrounds the logo may sit on.
  • The banned list. No stretching, no recolouring, no shadows, no outlines, no boxes.
  • The fonts, with a stated backup for anyone who does not have them.
  • Who holds the original files, and how a vendor asks for them.

How the 3 weeks run.

3 weeks from the first conversation to handover. 1 week to understand the business. 1 week to choose a direction from 3. 1 week to build every file and write the rules. There is no endless revision loop, because endless revisions make the work worse, not better.

01

Week 1: Brief and direction.

1 conversation about your market, your competitors, and who actually buys from you. Also where the mark has to survive. A 15mm card, a 20 foot hoarding, a stall backdrop, a rubber stamp.

02

Week 2: 3 directions.

3 genuinely different directions. Each one shown in use, not floating on a white slide. You pick 1. 2 rounds of changes are included on that 1.

03

Week 3: Build.

Every file format, the colour codes, the Gujarati and Hindi versions, the fonts, the visiting card, letterhead, and email signature. Plus social profile pictures, 3 post formats, and 1 print item of your choice.

04

Handover.

The full folder, the 1 page of rules, and a 20 minute walkthrough. Your office learns which file to send to which vendor.

What you get, and how it is quoted.

1 fixed job, quoted in writing before anything starts. The scope lists every file you receive. You pay half as advance (એડવાન્સ) and half on handover. Nothing is billed by the hour. Printing is paid to your printer at actual cost, and we never add a margin to it.

Who owns the source files.

You do. The editable original files, every export, the colour codes, and the 1 page of rules are handed over on completion. They are yours to use, to edit, and to give to any other designer. Nothing is held back and nothing needs renewing.

This matters more than it sounds. A lot of the branding problems we are asked to fix start the same way. The designer kept the original file. Then he moved city, changed his number, or simply stopped replying. The business pays a second time to have its own logo redrawn from a JPG. The redraw is never quite the same.

Keep the handover folder somewhere your office can find it. Not only on 1 laptop. The point of the whole set is that it outlives whoever made it, including us.

Questions

Common questions.

What does it cost?

It depends on how much of the set you already have. A brand new mark is more work than redrawing one that already works. You get a written scope and a fixed price before you pay anything. Nothing is billed by the hour, and the number does not change later.

Can we buy just the logo without the rest?

No. A logo with nothing around it goes wrong again within 2 years, and we would end up fixing it. The full set of files and rules is the actual product. It is quoted as 1 fixed job, written down before you pay.

Do you redraw an existing logo?

Yes. If your mark works and you only have a JPG of it, we rebuild it as proper vector artwork. We correct the shape, set the colours, add the 1 colour and reversed versions, and write the rules. Tell us at the start, because it changes the scope and the quotation (કોટેશન).

Will the logo work in Gujarati?

Yes. Gujarati and Hindi versions are part of the job. They are drawn or set properly and handed over as outlined vector artwork. So no vendor needs the font installed on his machine.

How many options do we see?

3 genuinely different directions in week 2. Each one is shown in use, not on a blank slide. You pick 1, and 2 rounds of changes are included on it. We do not run endless revisions, because they make the work worse.

Do you register the trademark?

No. We are not trademark agents. We hand over the artwork in the formats a trademark lawyer asks for. Run a search before the mark goes on 5,000 printed cards.

How long does it take?

3 weeks from the first conversation, if approvals come back within 2 working days. The delay is almost always the approval, not the design.
